We will be forming the 2020-22 Arlington GOP at our meeting on March 25, 2020. The meeting will be 7-9 PM in the Swanson Middle School auditorium (5800 North Washington St., Arlington, VA 22205). Arlington GOP is the official local unit organization of the Republican Party in Arlington County. Arlington GOP nominates Republican candidates for local office and supports Republican candidates for office at all levels of government.
• Organization: Arlington GOP, which engages in activities such as promoting policies and endorsing candidates, has an authorized size of 180 members, with 126 elected by precinct and the remaining 54 at-large, and a Chairman also elected at-large. Arlington GOP members and the Chairman are elected in the spring of even-numbered years, and serve 2-year terms. Arlington GOP members pay modest dues ($35 per year) and are expected to attend most meetings. During the 2-year term, new members may be elected by Arlington GOP to fill vacancies. Arlington GOP is proud to have the most expansive and inclusive voting membership of the two major parties in Arlington.
• Meetings: Arlington GOP usually meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month from January through October, with an end-of-the-year dinner in November or December. Arlington GOP meetings are open to the general public. Check our calendar for the upcoming meeting schedule. Meetings are subject to change, so please confirm meeting dates with the online calendar.
• Leadership: Arlington GOP is led by the County Chairman and the party's Executive Committee, which includes party officers (elected by Arlington GOP), and representatives of local Republican affiliate groups.
