OFFICIAL CALL
Legislative District Mass Meeting
of the 49th House District of the Republican Party of Virginia
April 25, 2017
As Chairman of the 49th House Legislative District Committee of the Republican Party (“the Committee”), and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Eric Brescia, do hereby issue this call for a Legislative District Mass Meeting to be held at Walter Reed Community Center located at 2909 16th St. S, Arlington, VA 22204, starting at 2:00 pm local time on Saturday, May 20th, for the purposes of: (a) nominating a Republican candidate for the office of Delegate to be voted for in the general election on November 7, 2017; and (b) for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of the 49th House District under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
Filing Requirements
Candidates for the election or nomination at the mass meeting shall file a signed and dated written statement addressed to the 49th Legislative District Committee by mail or in person, to Chairman Eric Brescia, 49th Legislative District Committee, c/o Arlington GOP, P.O. Box 3081, Arlington, Virginia 22204, which must be received no later than 6:00 PM on Friday, May 5th. A filing fee in the amount of $200 shall be included with the written statement made out to Arlington GOP. The fee shall be a check or money order payable to the Arlington County Republican Committee. The statement shall include the following text: “By my signature below, in accordance with the Qualifications for Participation set forth in the Plan of Organization for the Republican Party of Virginia, I do hereby state my intent to support the 49th House Legislative District Republican nominee in the November 7, 2017 general election.”
Registration Fee
There will be no registration fee for voters to participate in this mass meeting.
Cancellation
If warranted by the number of candidates, the date, location and time of the mass meeting are subject to change. At the discretion of the Committee, the mass meeting may be canceled in the event of only one or no candidate filing.

As Chairman of the 48th House Legislative District Committee of the Republican Party (“the Committee”), and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Dustin Hodges, do hereby issue this call for a Legislative District Mass Meeting to be held in the library of Key Elementary School (2300 Key Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201), starting at 2:00 PM local time on June 10, 2017 for the purposes of: (a) nominating a Republican candidate for the office of Delegate to be voted for in the general election on November 7, 2017; and (b) for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.
Qualifications for Participation

2017 45th House Legislative District Call

Legislative District Party Canvass of the 45th House District of the Republican Party of Virginia
As Chairman of the 45th House District Committee of the Republican Party, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Brenda M. Hankins, do hereby issue this call for a Legislative District Party Canvass to be held at the Minnie Howard Campus of T.C. Williams High School, 3801 W Braddock Rd, Alexandria VA 22302 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT) on May 4, 2017, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the office of Delegate to be voted for in the General Election on November 7, 2017. The Committee waived the requirement for a polling place in each Unit by unanimous vote.
Qualification for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of the 45th House District under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
Filing Requirement
Candidates for the Republican nomination at said canvass shall file a written statement by mail to Sean Lenehan, ARCC, PO Box 245, Alexandria VA 22313, which must be received not later than 5 pm EDT on Monday, April 24, 2017, and a non-refundable filing fee of $352.80 payable to the Alexandria Republican City Committee (postmarks do not govern).
If only one candidate properly files for any office, then said candidate may, at the discretion of the Chairman, be declared the Republican nominee and no canvass will be held for that office.
All ballots shall include a none-of-the-above option. To receive the party’s nomination, any candidate must receive a plurality of ballots cast in that contest.
Registration Fee
There will be no registration fee to participate in this canvass.
Publication
This Call shall be published on the websites of the Republican Party of Virginia and relevant unit committees. The Committee waived the newspaper publication requirement by a two-thirds vote.
