Two candidates filed for County GOP chairman; however one subsequently withdrew, and the filing period for that position was subsequently reopened until April 10. Other positions were not contested, and those who filed were elected at the ACRC meeting on Feb. 27: 98 as members of the County Committee for 2008-10; 235 as delegates to the 8th District Republican Convention; and 173 as delegates to the Republican State Convention.

In early 2008, Arlington Republicans elected local party officers for the next two years, and also sign up to participate in the 8th District GOP convention and Republican State Convention. In May and June, the party will select district party officers, state party officers, delegates to the national convention, and nominees for U.S. House and Senate.

There are many positions available, and ACRC encourages all interested party members to participate.
