Government

Arlington's local government is headed by a five-member County Board. Unlike most Virginia counties (which elect Supervisors by district, in the same election), Arlington elects Board members at-large, on a staggered basis, all to 4-year terms: County seal

Election cycle: County Board elections are held each November, with twp members elected in odd-numbered non-gubernatorial years, and one member elected in each other year. (Last regular election: Nov. 6, 2012, for one seat. Next election: Nov. 5, 2013, for one seat.)
