Elect Caren Merrick

photo The 31st Senate District covers much of Arlington County (including neighborhoods along Columbia Pike, the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, Cherrydale, up to the northwest corner), plus parts of northern Fairfax County along the Potomac River (including Great Falls and parts of McLean), and the northeast corner of Loudoun County (Sugarland Run, Potomac Falls).

Caren Merrick was the Republican candidate in 2011. She's a longtime resident of Northern Virginia, civic leader, successful technology entrepreneur, and champion for small businesses. This was an open seat, as Sen. Mary Whipple (D) did not seek re-election.
