Rick Perry - Governor of Texas (2000-present)
U.S. Senator
Open seat!
Virginia will elect a U.S. Senator in 2012. Iit's an excellent opportunity for Republicans to pick up a seat. Incumbent Jim Webb (D) will not seek a second term, and several Republicans have already announced for the Senate seat (see news coverage). Webb ran in 2006 as a political centrist; but once in office, he supported the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda for big government - a record which undermined his prospects for re-election in Virginia.
